Statement of the Austin Area Foundation regarding Equity, Inclusion, and Diversity

The Austin Area Foundation advocates equity, inclusion, and diversity as essential components of social justice for all members of our community. All people, regardless of ability, age, ethnicity, gender, nationality, race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, socio-economic status or other differences, are equal and have equal rights.

The Austin Area Foundation strives to deepen our understanding of systems of oppression and how they impede the community’s efforts for equity, inclusion, and diversity in all forms of social justice.

Partnering with other organizations, the Austin Area Foundation is committed to the ongoing work of creating a community where all individuals are valued and social justice is honored. This includes, but is not limited to, the Austin Community Understanding as adopted by the Common Council of the City of Austin, Mower County Board of Commissioners, and other entities including Apex Austin, The Hormel Foundation, and the Welcome Center, as well as many individual citizens.

The Austin Area Foundation envisions a thriving community where all residents live healthy, fulfilling lives free of discrimination and all systems of oppression. We envision a community where all residents will have equitable opportunities and resources, leading to optimal health and well-being.
